After returning from recuperation, Lydia Shen discovers that her husband Lucas Lu has been heavily promoting his female adjutant, Marilyn Xu. Lydia attempts to dismiss Marilyn, only to be framed and falsely accused by her. As a result, Lucas not only takes Marilyn's side but reinstates her to an even higher position. Subsequently, Lydia finds that her late father's relics have been destroyed. To make matters worse, she witnesses her beloved horse—raised by her since childhood—being drugged to death on Lucas's orders, simply because the horse refused to let Marilyn ride it. With her heart completely broken, Lydia resolves to call a meeting to strip Lucas of all his power and authority.
