The renowned constable of the Six Gates, Chu Langan, must escort the treacherous official Cao Huang to the capital to be executed by August 15th. Cao Huang’s son hires the "Shadow Gate" and its nine assassins to rescue him. With the authorities powerless, Chu Langan turns to her father, Chu Changfeng, for help. Chu Changfeng enlists A-Jiu, a handyman, to guard the convoy. A-Jiu agrees for the sake of his adopted daughter, Little Pomelo, but unbeknownst to all, he is actually the retired legendary Sword Saint.
