The protagonist went down the mountain to search for his relatives and entered Jiangcheng, guided by a name and a jade pendant. On the way, he saved Lu Zhiwei who was being hunted by the Gao family, thus getting involved in the disputes between two major families. At the Lu family, he felt close to Lin Yuerou because of the jade pendant, but was scorned as a "good-for-nothing" by his biological father, Lu Zhenshan. Later, when his mother and sister were in mortal danger, he stopped holding back and rose to power to protect his loved ones.
