During the Daqing era, the Jiang family in the Imperial Hospital was slaughtered by the Imperial Concubine Yi for alchemical elixir-making. On her deathbed, Jiang's mother ordered her two daughters to protect each other and conceal their birthdates. Ten years later, the sisters entered the palace to seek revenge. Jiang Yan attempted to gain the emperor's favor through a red-plum dance, while Jiang Wei secured her position by solving the emperor's dilemma with a Seven-Star Brilliance chess strategy. As palace intrigues swirled, Imperial Concubine Yi forced Jiang Wei to disfigure her sister's face, but Wei self-disfigured instead to protect her. Later, the Empress forged letters to frame them for conspiring with Prince Yan to rebel.
