To survive, the orphaned Caiden learned to assess situations but held to his principles. After witnessing Jeff imprisoning Jessie, he tried to save her but was beaten. Resentful and powerless, he stumbled upon Aydan and Nora's affair. Using this as leverage, he entered the coal mine, becoming Aydan's godson. But when Aydan died in a crash and the mine faced takeover, Caiden outmaneuvered his enemies in a clever counterattack.
