A modern woman named Shanae, while ranting about a novel, triggered a system and transmigrated into the novel as Shanae, the doomed empress of a fallen kingdom. To return home, she must complete the tragic plot or face erasure. Upon arrival, she witnesses the tyrant Junius executing imperial consorts. Her inner complaints, overheard by Junius through her thoughts, spare her life, and she is even ordered to serve him. As they spend time together, Shanae repeatedly faces danger, yet Junius consistently protects her, and affection grows between them. However, to advance the plot, Shanae is forced to hurt Junius. Coupled with the schemes of the villainous female character Soraya, misunderstandings pile up. In the end, the truth comes to light, they resolve their conflicts, and find happiness together.
