Li Guiying was sexist and addicted to mahjong. On her daughter-in-law's wedding anniversary, she left her granddaughter Keke in the kitchen. Keke contacted her mother Jiang Ruan, but the call was cut off due to the watch running out of power. Jiang Ruan's attempts to contact her husband Chen Lang were rejected. Eventually, Keke died of coal gas poisoning, and Chen Lang only faced the tragedy caused by negligence and blind filial piety when he saw his daughter's portrait at the funeral parlor.
