The Zhang and Yang families, with adjacent plots, agreed to each leave two meters for a shared path. After building, the Zhangs kept only one meter and broke the deal. When Zachary (Zhang) later built, he left no space, forcing the path entirely onto the Yangs' land. After a polite reminder from Yannick (Yang) was met with insults, Yannick dug his own front plot into a fishpond once Zachary's house was complete. Trapped without access, Zachary saw his wedding canceled, became the village joke, and was later jailed for provoking strife.
