Surgeon Xia Yixun discovers her husband Fu Mingyu’s affair with his student Gu Lingyan. Unrepentant, Fu demands she "be magnanimous" and promises to return in ten years. Heartbroken, Xia tricks him into signing a divorce agreement. During the cooling-off period, her grandmother passes away indirectly due to Gu Lingyan. In despair, Xia refocuses on her career.
