Benedict, heir to a secluded mountain temple, descended after his sect met with sudden disaster, carrying a betrothal token to seek out his childhood fiancée Arabella in Celestia. However, due to his plain attire and unclear background, the Arabella family publicly humiliated him, breaking off the engagement out of prejudice against his status. Disillusioned, Benedict resolutely terminated the betrothal and left alone. By chance, his medical skills and character caught the attention of Lord Reginald, the head of a prominent family in Celestia, who expressed interest in taking him as a son-in-law. Rather than hastily accepting, Benedict relied on his abilities to practice medicine, aid the needy, and relieve distress throughout Celestia. Gradually, he earned the respect and support of various influential factions, including the Huo Family, the Heart Pavilion, and the Cloud-Rain Tower.
